FAQ
How this actually works.
Including the parts most tools in this category would rather not put in writing.
Getting started
What do I get for free?
One full scan of a city and niche of your choosing, five lead reveals with contact details, and five drafted messages on any channel. It is granted once at signup rather than monthly, and none of it expires. No card required.
What happens after the trial runs out?
Nothing is taken away. Your account stays open, the leads you revealed stay yours, and your notes on them are untouched. The rest of your scan stays on screen too, scored and ranked, with the business names held back until you spend a credit.
What can I see before spending a credit?
Every row in a scan shows its category, area, opportunity score, presence grade and why that grade was given — enough to judge how good the queue is before paying for any of it. A credit unlocks the identity: business name, address, phone, website, and whatever email or social handle the listing carries. This works the same way on every plan, which is what lets scanning itself stay free and unlimited.
How long does a scan take?
A district takes a couple of minutes; a whole metro can take longer because we sweep it cell by cell rather than taking the first page of results. Keep the tab open — the scan runs from this page and shows you its progress as it goes. There is no notification yet, so leaving mid-scan means starting it again.
Which countries and languages work?
Any city that appears on the major map platforms, which is most of the world. Coverage depth varies, so a dense commercial district returns far more than a rural one. Messages are generated in the language of the market you scan, not just English.
How it finds leads
Where does the data come from?
Three layers. Openly licensed map data builds the candidate list for a city, which is what keeps scanning free. Licensed platform lookups verify and refresh the businesses you actually open, which is what your credits pay for. And our own crawler fetches each linked website to grade it.
Is this scraping?
We do not resell raw platform data, and we do not collect personal information beyond the business contact details those businesses publish about themselves. Our crawler identifies itself, respects robots directives and rate-limits itself.
Why do you show businesses that already have a website?
Because a link is not a website. Plenty point at a Facebook page, a Linktree, or a site that has been down for months. Those businesses need you just as much as the ones with an empty field, and no competing tool will show them to you.
How fresh is the data?
Scans are shared, so an area someone swept recently comes back from our own store rather than the map. A cell is re-swept after a week. That makes results fast and it means the website verdict you see is as old as the sweep it came from — up to seven days, not checked the moment you open it. If a business fixed its site last week, we may not know yet.
Outreach
Does Frontgap send the messages for me?
No, and that is deliberate. We draft; you send from your own email, phone or Instagram. Automated DM sending is the fastest way to lose the account you are prospecting from, and a message that arrives from a real profile gets replies a bot never will. Scheduling and follow-up reminders are not built yet, so today the sending and the chasing are both yours.
Will the messages sound like AI wrote them?
They should not. Every message has to carry one specific, checkable fact about that business — the presence problem you are writing about — and the composer is told to refuse the openers that give the game away: no hoping this finds you well, no praise that would fit any shop on the street. If the composer is unreachable the message is assembled from a template instead, and it tells you so above the draft rather than passing it off.
Is cold outreach to these businesses legal?
Business-to-business outreach is broadly permitted in most markets and considerably more restricted in others, with the EU and UK the strictest. Frontgap does not currently flag the rules for the region you are scanning and does not keep an opt-out list — both are planned, neither is built. You are the sender and the compliance obligation is yours, so check what applies where you are prospecting.
Billing
What is a lead credit?
One credit reveals one business in full: contact details, presence grade, score and generated messages. Scanning, filtering and browsing the queue cost nothing.
Can I pay in naira?
Yes. Checkout shows local pricing in naira, cedi, shilling and rand, and takes cards, mobile money, bank transfer and stablecoins.
What if a lead is wrong?
Report it and the credit goes back — wrong number, permanently closed, or a duplicate of one you already hold. The lead stays revealed; we refund the credit rather than re-locking something you have already seen.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from your account, without emailing anyone. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you have already paid for and your remaining credits stay usable.
Still unsure?
The free tier answers most questions faster than we can. One free scan of your own city, no card, and you judge the lead quality yourself.
Pick a city. Pick a niche. See what’s missing.
One free scan and five reveals, no card. If the first five don’t look like businesses you’d actually pitch, you’ve lost nothing but a coffee’s worth of time.
